I remember reading something in one of Ansel Adams' books about the trouble he had photographing the Grand Canyon due to haze and pollution. In fact, he demonstrated the use of polarizing filters with some shots here, as I remember. We encountered the same problems, especially with so many forest fires burning nearby. An even bigger problem for us was the fierce wind blowing the whole time we were there. You'll see that the vegetation in all of these pictures is blurry, because it was blowing around so much. In any case, none of these shots need any commentary. The last two came from Navajo Bridge, near Lee's Ferry (outside the canyon, and closer to Lake Powell).
