Astronomy
This is the only decent astro shot Wes has ever taken. It's comet Hale-Bopp, taken from the front porch of our house in Albuquerque (through an Olympus OM-1md with a 50mm f/1.4 lens, Kodak PPF film: about 30 sec. at f/1.4). Those true astro-geeks among you can tell by the comet's position relative to Ursa Minor exactly what date and time the shot was taken.
We have both enjoyed astronomy for quite some time. While we lived in Albuquerque, it was probably our main hobby; the seeing conditions there could not be much better. And the Albuquerque Astronomical Society is a fantastic help to all newcomers.
